Extreme Storms and Sea Level Rise in Blue Hill
A Conversation About Resilience

Last winter’s extreme storms highlight the necessity and urgency of action to enhance the resilience of Blue Hill’s infrastructure, coastline, and community. The Kollegewidgwok Yacht Club and Blue Hill Country Club have teamed to cosponsor an evening of learning and discussion on August 8th about how to prepare for future disasters.

Scientists will communicate the latest projections on sea level rise, storm surge, and wind speed for our region. Sustainability experts will share what forward-thinking coastal communities in Maine are doing to adapt to climate change and extreme weather. Policymakers and government affairs specialists will summarize recent public policy shifts and advocacy opportunities.

KYC and the Country Club will seek feedback from members on their emerging threat assessments and resiliency initiatives. The event will provide vitally important opportunities to not only learn about our shared future, but also to begin forging a consensus about necessary action.

Drinks will be served.
