KSEA News Registration begins March 20th
Hello KYC and KSEA families, We are looking forward to the upcoming summer sailing season and want to remind everyone that registration for KYC members begins March 20th, and registration for non-members begins April 1st. Please go to the KYC/KSEA website to register. We are excited to announce two additions to our KSEA program. Full descriptions of each of these courses are on the KYC/ KSEA website. *During each session we are now offering a course for 8 and 9 year olds in our Rhodes 19 sailboats. This course is for children who are interested in sailing, but who do not feel ready to sail independently in an Opti. *During the second session Dave Danielson will be teaching a course in Motor Boat handling. This is a four day course with practical and classroom time. *We are also very pleased to announce The Rusty Duym Community Sailing Week. This summer KSEA begins our sailing program by offering a week of free sailing instruction. This is made possible by the generous donations of KYC members and our community to the Rusty Duym Memorial Scholarship, which honors Rusty Duym, an inspirational member of our community who was a passionate and skilled sailor. We hope to encourage both experienced and new sailors to get out on the water with our excellent sailing instructors. This course is free and there are no equipment use fees. The course is open to anyone, and we hope members of our community will take advantage of this opportunity. We look forward to continuing to offer this course for free, and ask participants to make a donation to the scholarship if they have the means to do so.
